The Creative Process

People ask us this question all the time: “Where do you start?”

We start our creative process with a visit to the home, and a briefing from both our client and real estate agent during this initial consultation.

To guide you through the transformation of our recent styling project in Kings Langley NSW, we have listed some of our client and agent requirements below. We also produced a video to give you an insight to our creative process.

CLIENT REQUIREMENTS:

1. There are two possible entrances to the house during open home - the front door and the garage. Both entrances must create instant interest.

2. Turn the garage into a study room.

3. Add wall art to the front entrance hallway.

4. Create a feeling of open entertainment in the back room.

REAL ESTATE AGENT REQUIREMENTS:

1. Add a modern edge.

2. Create space.

THE CREATIVE PROCESS:

Watch the video as we transform this beautiful home in Kings Langley.

The video begins from the garage turned home office. From there, you’ll be able to view each room and see the multiple arch entrances throughout the home.

As promised, the garage entrance highlights a large vintage art above a study desk and introduces a gorgeous yet comfy seating area. Stunning wall arts were also placed immediately as you open the front door - you can see these through the arch next to the fireplace.

Using the fireplace as our main focus in the formal living area, we brought metallic and wooden items to combine a modern edge and a timeless feel. Ironic as it may sound, this mix works beautifully in this home.

It was crucial for us to use all arch entrances to provide glimpses of interest through to the next rooms. Furniture and wall art were positioned meticulously to allow this.

We styled the spacious back room using a large dining table with soft dining chairs, a light coloured sofa and patterned ottoman to complement the exposed brick wall. Cushions, throws and vignette trays were placed around the room to create a homely feeling fit for entertaining friends and family.

To create space, we measured the rooms during initial consultation to make sure we selected suitable furniture. Don’t underestimate the importance of furniture placement and size to create space. We also used mirrors - mirrored coffee tables and wall mounted mirrors to give that illusion of space.
